Every version, with the hash to check it against

Releases come out every few weeks. Updating never touches your settings and never re-downloads the models you already have.

Not signed yet. The builds are not code-signed, so Windows will warn about an unknown publisher. Until a certificate is in place, every release publishes the SHA-256 of both files and the program refuses an update whose hash does not match. Signing is planned, and so is publishing through winget and the Microsoft Store, so that installing and updating can come through a channel Windows already trusts.

The other designs get the care the terminal one had

  • Editor follows VS Code: filled blue buttons, the editor's focus ring, round status dots, visible corners.
  • Document went duskier and its ordinary buttons became grey, with blue kept for the main action.
  • Neon took the look of its own shortcut chip, and its dropdowns fit their text again.
  • Soft moved to a dustier rose so a warning is readable on it.

The week keeps quiet when there is no history to draw

  • With history switched off, the Status screen no longer shows an empty statistics block.
  • Number fields keep their arrows inside the field, whatever the design.

The settings pull themselves together, and the help explains itself

  • System became three groups without headings, one button width, and the recognition server moved into two cards with a switch.
  • The manual was rewritten for people rather than for the interface, with its contents pinned to the right.
  • About lists every external part with what it does and under which licence.

The status screen answers the question you opened it with

  • History keeps an entry for any span you type, in minutes, hours or days, and drops it on time.
  • Programs can be excluded from history by picking them from the list of open windows.
  • The week is drawn as a pie of the programs you dictated into.

how updating works

What happens when a new version appears

StepWhat the program does
CheckAsks the GitHub releases API, only if you left that switch on. Nothing identifying is sent.
DownloadFetches the installer over HTTPS, showing progress. You can cancel it.
VerifyCompares the file against the SHA-256 published with the release. A mismatch, or a missing hash, stops the update and deletes the file.
InstallRuns the installer, which replaces the program and the engines and leaves config.json, the models and the history alone.
Models are never re-downloaded. They live in models\, which no update touches. A version bump costs about 35 MB, not the several gigabytes the models take.

Prefer to do it by hand? Download the archive, unpack it over the folder, keep your config.json. Prefer never to be asked? Turn the check off in System; nothing will contact GitHub again.
